What is Biga, you ask? Biga is the number two in Basque and also the name of the second wine in the range from Luberri. This wine is complex and layered, fun, lively, and simply delicious to drink, made entirely from the indigenous Tempranillo grape. Biga captures the spirit of the wines of Luberri: Rioja wines to drink for pure pleasure at the table, however, its invigorating mix of fruit and soil character is a welcome departure from the sweet, oak-slathered styles that have largely defined “modern” Rioja.

Its aroma is that of clean red fruit along with secondary aromas of leather, spice and noble woods, thanks to its 12 months barrel ageing (crianza). The mouthfeel is bright and elegant with flavors highlighting vanilla, wood and smoke with a fruity acidity.
