This wine comes from a 29-year-old vineyard in the Helderberg area of Stellenbosch, close to the ocean, which imparts a distinctive saline finish and excellent focus on the palate. Notes of blood orange and rhubarb abound, complemented by a wonderfully round yet fresh texture. Oak adds depth to the mid-palate, and the wine finishes zesty and pure. A truly elegant rosé, capable of standing alongside France’s finest.
Lukas Van Loggerenberg is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents in South African wine. Although he grew up surrounded by vineyards in the Breedekloof Valley and studied viticulture and oenology at Elsenburg, he almost pursued a career in medicine. His defining moment came in France, at Domaine de La Chevalerie in the Loire Valley, where winemaker Stéphanie Caslot opened a 1989 Cabernet Franc that took his breath away. It was at that moment that Lukas decided to launch his own wine label.
