The name evokes the Força Réal, a pyramidal black mountain recognizable for kilometers around. The “Black Mountain” is a marine nickname used since ancient times and is still used today as a cue for fishermen from the sea to find their way home.
This wine displays a deep purple color, and the nose shows a complexity between black cherries and spices. The palate is very well balanced: fresh, fruity and spiced, with fine tannins. This is certainly a full-bodied wine, with delicate ageing in barrels, and despite the hot climate in Roussillon, it is a wine with a strong minerality and nice length. It can easily be kept 10+ years.
