Pecorino is a very old grape variety that has only recently been rediscovered and used for monovarietal wines. Its name comes from the ancient tradition of herding sheep—pecora is Italian for sheep—as the grapes were among the first to ripen, attracting the animals.
The stunning Montedorisio vineyard, perched on a steep slope less than one mile from the cliffs descending into the Adriatic Sea, is planted with Montepulciano and Pecorino. Focusing on varietal freshness and typicity, this Pecorino is an easy-drinking yet serious single-vineyard wine, offering a pure and expressive profile of the grape.
