David & Nadia Swartland Chenin Blanc

£34.00

Availability: 3 in stock

Their flagship Chenin Blanc from the Swartland draws on a selection of Old Vine vineyards, with plantings dating from 1962 to 1982. The grapes thrive on a mix of terroirs: granite from the Paardeberg, schale/schist from the east, clay from the north, and iron-rich soils from the western Swartland. Dry-land farmed bush vines, resilient through decades, showcase precisely why Chenin Blanc remains the estate’s primary focus.

The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented, before being matured for 11 months in old, neutral French oak barrels, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth, structure, and expression.
