Domaine du Pelican, Arbois, Jura
One kilometre north of Arbois, Montigny-lès-Arsures is a picturesque village perched on a hillside and surrounded by vineyards. Small in size but immense in its wines and winemaking heritage, Montigny-lès-Arsures is recognised as the world capital of Trousseau, celebrated for its exceptional wines.
Throughout history, winemakers in Montigny have mastered the art of expressing the quintessence of its terroirs, revealing the elegance of its wines and establishing the village’s reputation. This legacy of pride and expertise has been passed down from generation to generation.
Domaine du Pélican, owner of Clos Saint-Laurent in Montigny-lès-Arsures, was founded in 2012 by Guillaume d’Angerville and François Duvivier, centred around plots formerly owned by the Chavanes family and the historic Grand Curoulet in Arbois. Today, Domaine du Pélican cultivates approximately 15 hectares within the Arbois appellation, working with the five Jura grape varieties: Trousseau, Poulsard, and Pinot Noir for reds, and Savagnin and Chardonnay for whites.
