Domaine Montrose, Languedoc
Domaine Montrose and its surroundings have been inhabited for millennia. In Antiquity, it was likely the site of a Roman villa. The Valros Tower, located next to the vineyard, was first a Carolingian necropolis and later a stronghold in the Middle Ages.
Wine has been made at Montrose since the 16th century, as evidenced by the underground tanks beneath the wine cellar. In 1701, the family’s ancestor Joseph Alazard was granted the Three Lizards coat of arms, which, in homage to him, continues to adorn all their bottles today.
