Mountadam Vineyards, Barossa, Australia

Established in 1972, Mountadam Vineyards was founded by the late David Wynn, one of the most influential figures in the Australian wine industry. Wynn was the first to recognise the potential of a cool, elevated site for producing Australian wines of elegance and structure. He named the vineyard after his son, Adam, who became the company’s winemaker in 1984. Wynn’s search for the ideal vineyard site took him across Australia before he settled high above the township of Eden Valley, in the area now recognised as the High Eden sub-region. High Eden, officially designated in 2001, is an oval-shaped area of around 40 square kilometres encompassing the highest elevations of Eden Valley.
